On 3 Oct. 2022, Archbishop Salvatore Ligorio presided over a prayer service in Potenza’s FSP Book and Media Center to celebrate 90 years of Pauline presence in that city and launch the various initiatives that will take place throughout the pastoral year. The leitmotif of the gathering was St. Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 9:16-23, namely the need to proclaim the Gospel.

Present at the event was Sr. Gloria Angelini, provincial vicar of the Daughters of St. Paul, who read a short excerpt from the writings of Blessed James Alberione, in which he calls an FSP book center a temple, the book vendor a preacher, and the pew a pulpit of truth. It was precisely the dimension of temple that the bishop underscored in his address to those present, some 30 people including members of the Pauline Family (Cooperators, Annunciationists, members of the Holy Family Institute), as well as many loyal customers.

At the end of the prayer service, Sr. Gloria recounted the history of our Potenza Book Center, including her personal memories of the years in which she worked there as a member of the book center staff (1991-1999).
