On Saturday, 8 June, in Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Bucharest, the Word of God was proclaimed by 75 individuals, who alternated at the lectern throughout the day, joyously carrying out this special ministry. A “first of a kind” event in Romania, the initiative was organized by the FSPs of Bucharest with the collaboration of the pastor of the parish and a large group of laity so as to celebrate the Year of Faith.
The uninterrupted reading of the Gospel of Luke and of the Acts of the Apostles brought together families, young people, committed lay persons, priests, religious and representatives of the worlds of the cinema, culture and communications. The last chapter of the Acts of the Apostles was read aloud by the Auxiliary Bishop of Bucharest, Cornel Damian, who also celebrated the solemn Liturgy closing the day. The event was also extended beyond the borders of Romania thanks to live coverage on the part of Radio Maria.
