52nd Edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Czech Republic and the most prestigious one in Central and Eastern Europe. Every year, it presents some 200 films from around the world and regularly hosts famous and important filmmakers.

This year, the 52nd edition of the event, the Czech movie Little Crusader, directed by Václav Kadrnka, won the Crystal Globe for Best Film. A kind of medieval road movie, it recounts the story of a knight looking for his son.

The Festival also awards a Crystal Globe for artistic contribution to world cinema. This year the award went to Uma Thurman and Jeremy Renner.
