In honor of World Mission Day 2014, the Daughters of St. Paul of Verona organized a day to celebrate in an ecclesial context the Institute’s missionary presence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The FSPs have been living and working in that country since 1958 and have three communities there.
The heartfelt and enthusiastic testimony of Sr. Maria Rosaria Zambello of our Kinshasa community deeply touched the people, who listened with great interest to her account of the enormous effort the FSPs of that circumscription are making in collaboration with the Congolese Episcopal Conference to publish the African Bible in French. The Bible, which is already available in English, Portuguese and Swahili, is enriched with notes that make the text more understandable to the reader.
Sr. Maria Rosaria spoke at all the Sunday Masses in the parish that day, sharing her joy at the immense sacrifices the people of this young Christian country are ready to make to have the Word of God in their hands.
