After the World Congress on Catholic Television held in Madrid in 2006 and the one on the Radio held in Vatican City in 2008, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications announced that it will be holding a third Congress-this one on the Catholic Press-once again in Vatican City from 4-7 October 2010.
The Congress will focus on the present situation and future prospects of the Catholic press throughout the world, with particular attention to the Internet and the new media. According to Archbishop Claudio Celli, president of the Pontifical Council, “Today the whole world knows that the new technologies are opening broad and exciting paths, including for the Catholic press.”
