During 2013-2014, the FSPs of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, have been carrying out an intensive itinerant mission in Cotonou, the capital of Benin, and Lomé, the capital of Togo, in response to the needs of these dioceses.

The constant plea of Pope Francis to “be a neighbor” to those in need stirred up the apostolic creativity of our sisters who, like the Apostle Paul, are traveling the streets of these West African cities to carry out the Pauline mission. Setting out by bus from Abidjan, they crossed Ghana to reach Cotonou, where they received a warm welcome from the bishops, priests, religious and laity.

The sisters have been visiting schools, parishes, radio stations, diocesan newspaper offices, etc. to joyously and enthusiastically bring the Good News to everyone they meet. The people have proved to be very receptive to their message and many have collaborated with them by offering them a place to stay, by providing or finding transportation for them, etc. We are sure that thanks to the zeal of our sisters the seeds of the Word of God sown in this time will yield an abundance of blessings for everyone.
