At the Daughters of St. Paul Motherhouse in Alba, the awards ceremony for the contest Journalists for a Day came to a joyful close. The initiative was inspired by Pope Francis’ January 24, 2025, message in which he encouraged journalists to “seek out and share good news like those prosecting for gold.”

The project involved parishes, catechists, and elementary and middle schools, with the collaboration of sisters and lay members of the group “Sulle orme di Paolo” (In the Footsteps of Paul.) About seventy students personally submitted a short story (up to 300 words) about an event they experienced or witnessed. In addition, several teachers and catechists sent in group projects and posters. In total, around 150 young people participated. Twenty-two students received awards across different age categories, while all participants were given a small gift as a token of appreciation.

The ceremony was marked by joy and active participation, with many asking for similar activities to be offered again in schools.
