Rome’s International Literature Festival celebrated its 12th birthday on 11 June. The program this year consists of 10 evenings of literary readings centered on the theme, I Had a Dream stories of dreams that came true. The topic was chosen to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s unforgettable speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., USA.
This year’s Festival not only honors Martin Luther King but is also a homage to life as depicted in the stories of courageous people today. Alongside various authors sharing their latest writings concerning their dreams for human beings and human civilization are a host of young people who open each evening with the stories of their dreams that came true. All the reading sessions are enriched with live music, video clips and images.
