The holy and great Council of the Orthodox Church ended with a solemn Divine Liturgy on 26 June. “We have written a page of history,” said the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew I, at the end of the Council’s work. The Churches have decided to hold a Council every 7-10 years.

In their final message, the participants wrote: “We are listening to the people’s pain, anguish and cry for justice and peace.”
