The 14th solo exhibit of Kim Ok-soon of the Daughters of St. Paul, entitled Bible & Old Story 2, was held at the Myeongdong Gallery 1898 in Seoul. Sr. Kim Ok-soon studied in Italy at the Ettore Rolli School of Arts and Crafts and at the European Institute of Design.

She has produced many illustrations for exhibitions, books and bulletins. Jo So-hui, an artist and professor at Dongduk Women’s University, states in her presentation, entitled Warm Tales by Sr. Kim Ok-soon, A Solitary Navigator, that “Whoever views the illustrations of Kim Ok-soon feels in tune with the images: simple rural landscapes, innocent childhood and family scenes, stories and symbols of the Bible…. Her paintings fall into a different context than modern ones; her illustrations tell stories through simple and clear images; their ‘tone’ is warm, cheerful, serene and pleasant.”

Sr. Kim Ok-soon’s illustrations can be viewed in the online gallery of the FSP website, fsp.pauline.or.kr/garden/kim.php.
