The theme of the 50th World Communications Day–Communication and Mercy: a Fruitful Encounter–guided the reflections of the members of our Divine Providence community, Rome, who were encouraged by the Communications Week animation team to participate in an annual contest organized to celebrate this event.

The reading of the WCD Message of Pope Francis stimulated the sisters to share their reflections and prayers on the theme, and then to create pictures of it that were subsequently transformed into posters.

The various contributions to the contest were put on display for a whole week just outside the community chapel. Visitors to the exhibit could express their comments by attaching a yellow sticker to the sides of the posters they liked. About 15 members of the community (median age: 80+) participated in the contest.

The experience ended with a lively exchange of personal thoughts on the beauty of being Paulines and with thanks to the Lord for the instruments of communication and for the abundant riches he continues to lavish upon us.
