Two FSPs from our Central European Delegation (Sr. Andrea from Prague and Sr. Virginia from Dusseldorf) participated in the national meeting of Catholic universities of the Czech Republic (Studentský Velehrad), held in Velehrad, which was evangelized in 863 A.D. by Sts. Cyril and Methodius , patrons of the Slavic peoples. The encounter, entitled It Depends on You, centered on the theme of responsibility.

This year more than 700 university students, their chaplains and about a dozen men and women religious participated in the event. The program included times of prayer, the sharing of experiences, conferences on faith, relationships, history, politics, the media, ecology, and workshops. The evenings were filled with concerts, prayer meetings, sports and volunteer services.

The primary duty of our FSP participants was to spend time with the students, talk to them about the vocation to the priesthood and religious life, and guide a time of Eucharistic Adoration according to the Alberionian method. At the end of this time of prayer, the participants were invited to venerate the Bible and choose a bookmark bearing a Bible verse.

Let us pray for the young adults whom our sisters met at this event and who for the first time heard about the Daughters of St. Paul and their mission in the Church.
