The FSP Book Center in Bucharest recently held a book launch to present Sfintele Evanghelii si Faptele Apostolilor, the Romanian translation of Vangeli e Atti degli Apostoli: Password Bibbia giovane (“The Bible and the Acts of the Apostles: Password to the Bible for Youth”), published by St. Paul Editions, Italy. The speakers for the occasion were Fr. Tarciziu Serban, professor of Biblical Sciences at the Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology of the University of Bucharest, and Sr. Rodica Miron, head of St. Joseph Roman Catholic College in Bucharest. His Excellency Ioan Robu, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bucharest, was also present at the event as a special guest.

In his talk, Fr. Tarciziu, who corrected the translation of the biblical text and adapted its notes to the Romanian cultural context, clearly situated this new edition of the Gospel in the series of biblical publications already available in Romanian. He then presented the structure of the book, emphasizing that the wealth of notes and explanations that accompany the sacred text can help readers study it more profoundly and use it for prayer. Sr. Rodica Miron offered some suggestions as to how families, parishes and schools can make the most of this new edition to cultivate the spiritual fruits that the Word of God bestows on each person.

Archbishop Robu concluded the encounter by inviting the participants to read the Word of God. He also encouraged the FSPs to continue their diffusion of the Gospel, taking advantage of new ways to reach as many people as possible.

This new Romanian edition of the Gospel is the realization a long-held dream of the Daughters of St. Paul of this country and we accompany its diffusion with our prayers so that the Word will spread and be glorified (cf. 2 Th. 3:1).
