This year, 22 FSP Book Centers participated in the third edition of the initiative, #IoLeggoPerché2017 (#IReadBecause2017), organized by the Association of Italian Publishers for the purpose of restocking school libraries. The religious and secular book shops participating in the project were paired with a total of 129 schools on every academic level, ranging from kindergarten through high school.
In various ways and with the help of a few “messengers,” the shops encouraged their clients to donate books to the school libraries with which they had been paired. Nation-wide, more than 66,748 books were donated by 1,774 book shops to the 5,636 schools that had asked to participate in the event. Our Pauline book centers, thanks to the generous collaboration of their clients, donated a total of 500 books to the project.
