In the light of the various forms of discrimination and denial of religious freedom that continue to be practiced in Pakistan, Indonesia, Uganda and other parts of the world, Pope Benedict XVI has chosen as the theme for the next World Peace Day: ?Religious Freedom: The Path to Peace.
In making this announcement, the Vatican news bulletin of 13 July 2010 underscores that ?everything that is opposed to the dignity of the human being is also opposed to the search for truth and cannot be considered to be religious freedom.?
The Pope?s Message for the day will be published on 1 January 2011.
