Archbishop John Joseph McCarthy

This book sought to establish a coherent record of the history of Archbishop John Joseph McCarthy (C.S.Sp), the first Archbishop of Nairobi Metropolitan and founder of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Nairobi (ASN), and Brothers of St. Peter Claver. It pulls together information from the Archives of the Holy Ghost Fathers the Archdiocese of Nairobi, Assumption Sisters of Nairobi and mostly from verbal information provided by his family, Spiritan Confreres, the Assumption Sisters of Nairobi, and others who encountered him during his life and missionary activities in Africa, and particularly in Kenya.
