“Let the children come to me… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Mt. 19:14). This was the guiding motive behind the distribution of bags of art supplies to 35 mentally challenged students during the FSP annual Summer Art and Therapy Workshop held at their convent in Iloilo City, Philippines.

The event was organized by the Association of Disabled Persons in Iloilo (ADPI) as part of a therapy program for special children. The workshop was also an excellent occasion for parents and guardians to learn how to properly handle their children by allowing the adults to assist in therapy sessions facilitated by volunteer certified therapists specializing in mentally-challenged children.

The sisters, together with some Pauline Cooperators, collaborated with the ADPI by providing the venue, sponsoring the snacks for the five-day event, and giving away God’s Little Artists bags, each containing a box of 8-color crayons, a thick pencil, an eraser, clay, a drawing pad and Paulines coloring books.

It was a time of fun and learning for the children and their families, as well as for the sisters and the Pauline Cooperators, who served as channels of blessings and joy to this very special group of God’s little artists.
