Madagascar celebrated its 9th National Youth Day from 8-14 October 2018 in the city of Mahajanga. The theme of the event, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God, was deepened by the catecheses of the bishops, who encouraged young people to always be ready to say yes to the Lord’s call. Many religious Institutes participated in the event, during which each Congregation had the chance to meet the young people and speak about its particular charism.

We Daughters of St. Paul also had a stand at our disposal from which we illustrated our mission and presence in the Church, spoke directly with youth from all over the island, and offered them vocation brochures. The stand amply displayed our FSP publications, above all those centered on faith and the Word of God (the Bible, missals, pocket Gospels, Je crois, izaho mino, Dieu marche avec son people), etc., and its young visitors were very interested in everything. The goal of this year’s National Youth Day was to help young people come to a deeper grasp of the Faith and encourage them to read the Word of God so as to witness to it.
