The annual Hollywood Short Film Festival took place in California, USA, on 13 January 2018. The film Three in One by Brother Wojciech Turek, of the Society of St. Paul in Poland, was screened at this festival. Br. Turek is the same person who directed our film Artyska. Sr. Nancy Usselman and Sr. Helena Burns from the U.S. Province represented him at the event.
The 11-minute film is the story of 85-year-old Jan Rabizant, who lives in a country town in Poland. Jan’s very simple life revolves around his three great passions: bees, music and seeking truth in the Bible. He grew up in the Stalin era and once tried ordering a Bible, which was forbidden by the regime. Yet somehow he received the text in the mail and, after reading it, he says, “This book is my life!” The beauty of its words touched him profoundly and every day he thanks God for the gift of the light of Jesus.
