From 28 May–10 June, the city of Montevideo held its annual Book Fair for Children and Youth, promoted by the Uruguayan Book House, a civil association founded in 1944 and based in Montevideo. The organization, which brings together booksellers, publishers and distributors, is striving to defend the important role of books in the country.

During the days of the Fair, a rich exchange took place between private and public schools. Like every years, the Daughters of St. Paul were present at the event with a stand offering a wealth of titles on religious themes, human values and a wide array of educational material and study aids.

In its evaluation of the event, the Board of Directors of the Book House noted the importance of the FSP presence at the Fair and praised our Institute’s commitment to concretizing the command of Blessed James Alberione to place the Word of God at the center of our mission and for also urging us to “speak not only about religion, but about everything in a Christian way.”
