The Archdiocese of Bangalore opened a Catholic Enquiry Centre (CEC) in 1977, entrusting its management to the Daughters of St. Paul.

This year, the Centre is celebrating its 40th anniversary of proclaiming the Good News to non-Christians primarily through free correspondence courses in various local languages. The Ruby Jubilee celebrations were accompanied by a 3-day National General Body Meeting of the Association of Catholic Enquiry Centres in India, held in Bangalore.

During the festivities, Archbishop Bernard Moras affirmed that “Jesus in the way, truth and life of 16 million Catholics in our Archdiocese” and then went on to speak about the achievements of the CEC over the past 40 years. He warmly thanked all those who carry out this work of evangelization, urging the members of the present staff to continue their efforts to disseminate the Gospel to all those requesting more information about Jesus.

To commemorate the Jubilee, the Centre also organized a Bible Quiz for Youth, with prizes awarded to the winners.

Looking back on their decades of service in this field, the FSPs of Bangalore say: “We are grateful to God for his countless and priceless blessings especially through those who have helped us to spread the light of Christ through the CEC.”
