During this Pauline Year, let us make a special effort to:

allow ourselves to be guided by the reflections proposed in the Animation Project, so as to savor together the wealth of what it means to be a Pauline;
intensify our personal meditations and communitarian sharing of the Word, giving prefe-rence to Paul’s writings;
read and reread the Apostle’s Letters (particularly those to the Galatians, Corinthians and Philippians), especially during “favorable times” of the year (for example, during the no-vena in preparation for the Conversion of St. Paul or the Feast of St. Paul);
open our hearts to all peoples and cultures: one way to do this would be to give our apos-tolic centers a special ecumenical dimension, in harmony with the Pope’s desire that the Pauline Year “contribute to renewing our missionary enthusiasm and strengthening our relations with our brothers and sisters of the Eastern Church and with other Christians who, like us, venerate the Apostle of the Gentiles”;
intensify our pastoral work for vocations, sharing the wealth of our Pauline charism with young women and with the laity;
strengthen our feelings of being a family and, more extensively, the “Pauline Family”: a family that rejoices and grows together, and that shares the beauty of the gift it has re-ceived.
With Pope Benedict XVI, who deeply desired to celebrate a year dedicated to St. Paul, we hope that the Apostle, “a great evangelizer and tireless builder of unity, will make us docile to the voice of the Spirit and obtain for us the missionary ardor that inflamed his entire existence.”

With deep affection,
